Food web

This is My food web a food web is like a ecosystem. A food web is like a spider web and a ecosystem it is like a circle of bugs. what I mean by that is, for example one spider eats another bug and that bug eats another and then another and yeah. A food web is just like a circle that goes around and around and around.

Have you ever learnt or seen a blue tailed spider? Well you are going to, A blue tailed spider is a harmless and sweet little spider. How he or she gets its food is they act like a trap door spider, They hide and when they see its prey the jump out and grab it. They are important because they help us with the trees and they are a part of an ecosystem and if they were all killed the ecosystem would not work as normal.

Weta's

Weta's are one of the most biggest insects on earth ( a huge spider). Also weta's love eating carrots and also cannot jump. They are also nearly extinct thanks to rats, and an alpine weta can freeze when it is in the winter. most of all the name is "wetapunga" and that means " the gods of ugly things".

Task description: these are ll facts about New Zealand weta and you might find them around your suburb. I had to show some facts about the weta that most people might not know and explain to them what a weta is and what it does and does not.

My native and non-native birds writing

We need more native birds because native birds are really important to NZ. Their are not that much native birds in tamaki and I think we need more because I think that tamaki is a good suburb. Native birds in tamaki would be better because it is making tamaki look beautiful and more clean to the environment.

haven't even seen one kiwi in tamaki so We need more kiwi’s in tamaki. Tamaki is a place where you don’t see that much kiwi’s in fact you don’t see any kiwi’s in Tamaki. Kiwi’s are the most important bird in New Zealand because they are our national bird.

We don’t need that much pigeons because we see them everywhere and when I mean everywhere I mean around New zealand. It would be good if there were less pigeons and more kiwis and New Zealand kaka. Having pigeons is not bad but also I would love to see some native birds in Tamaki.

I would love to have more kiwi’s and more native birds to be in tamaki but also pigeons are all around new Zealand so you can see them everywhere across New Zealand. Having kiwi’s and New Zealand kaka birds would be so cool and I would be so happy if that happy.

task description: This task is what is my favorite bird is and would I like to see it in east Tamaki. The other question was if their were a bird that I did not want in tamaki and swap with a Native bird.

Newspaper towers

Walt: write a recount about our experience.

Would you want to spend 5 minutes building a tower… out of newspapers?  Well my teacher might be crazy, because he thought that newspapers can stand free. On its own.

When I was told we were making towers made out of papers (from Mr Goodwin) I had no idea what I was going to plan. We had to get in groups of 4-6. Anyways when we were on the mat and I was thinking in My head what to do while he was talking. He nearly caught me.

n our groups of 6 there was Daisy,Amelia,Makayla,Paikea, Trendy and Me (Naomi) . As we got into our groups we got handed a sheet of paper to plan in. We all shared our Ideas into the paper, but some of us still needed to be confident and speak up. We had a great plan to make the paper into little balls and then build up.

As I was talking about our great plan, it failed. So we started another plan we put the little balls at the bottom and then got the other papers and rolled them up, we put them like they were little tubs. We were rushing and rushing because we wanted the big prize (the prize for the winners) . But as the time went by our tower started to fall and our big creation failed.

This was a very fun and noisy lesson making a paper tower is really hard. But the thing I liked about it was the teamwork we had to do to build the tower, because everybody was cooperating with each other and it was really cool. The thing that we need to work on more to build the tower was trying to build it. But it really didn’t matter who won because the prize was glory.

Task description: Yesterday our class got the chance to become builders and we built a tower... a newspaper tower. We had to build a paper tower free standing. So whoever won wins a big prize and that prize was not big nor cool it was glory.

Description of the car

RMMM RMMM Mr Goodwin's new car is grey like the clouds at night and it can connect Mr G’s music from his phone without any cords, it also has 5 seats with a tv at the top and has 4 cup holders 2 in the front and 2 at the back. It is tall as a  tree and can go 75 mph and has a cool boot with heaps of messy stuff in there but it can hold 5 fold up chairs and 2 suitcases. His car is subaru and it cost $2,785 and it is not a rip off if it has a tv in it.

The story of the car

As I was strolling through Glen Innes I saw the coolest car in the universe,  even though we live in a cheap suburb. I’ve always wanted to buy a new car as grey as clouds, hey wake up wake up

Oh it was just a dream. “No it’s not it is real you are looking at my new car i brought it was not cheap,  it’s your teacher the one who has BIG muscles do you remember me?

Yes of course the dude who teaches me in class with the big muscles bigger then Mr Moran’s. “May I show off”,said Mr G. I said,”SURE”. I tell him to give me 2 seconds “Yeah”,He said. I turn around and make a Jealousy face. “ Wow “ this is the coolest car ever “ Mr can you pick me up and drop me off from school every day now” i said “ i would love to but you're too smelly to put in the car”.

Task description: what i had to do was first i had to use my imagination to describe how i thought Mr Goodwin's car. Then we played a little game Mr Goodwin did not tell us the name but it was so fun. What we played was a writing game we had to get in to a group of three and had to write a sentence each on our Chromebook then change laptops.

Fiafia

Walt: organise my ideas into paragraphs and link them together.

Have you ever been to a fiafia event?. At  Pt England school we had fiafia on thursday and  we had to pick a culture group and perform at fiafia, Fiafia was so cool. Fiafia is fun we get to perform our culture to our audience.

If you did not know what fiafia is it is a cultural performance or something like that for the kids to show people what we do in other countries. Our Fiafia was held on thursday the 7th of april 2016, it was on the school field with a stage built there. At FiaFia the whole school came with their parents and had fun performing or watching.

For Fiafia I was in the Niuean group I chose it because it is my culture and I thought it would be fun. We have been practicing for 5 to 6 weeks. We had practice every thursday or if we need to catch up on stuff we stay in at lunchtime or we practice on wednesday.

My favourite performance was the middle hip hop group. I like their one because they had three songs mixed it was love yourself, desert and jump. What I also like about their group was the actions and their movements.

What I think about Fiafia is I think it is fun, exciting  and I think it is a way to represent your culture and be proud about it. Another thing about Fiafia I think it is also a way to being confident and not being shy. The last thing I thought about FiaFia that is was cool that our parents took their time off work  to sell food and support us.
