Task description: This is my term 1 animation and yes term 1 has past but i am sharing it now so that I could get a mark and finish it. it is about maui and the sun well how maui slowed down the sun with his brothers. the voice over just covers what I am trying to say.

Paideia seminar Reflection

Have you ever had a paideia seminar? Well the year 5&6 extension group did. We got into groups of two and my partner was Bethan. We had this doc filled with all kinds of perspectives we could choose from. Bethan and I chose 4 and the others just stuck with one perspective. The question we had to answer/ and argue for the paideia seminar was… “Is it important to keep our humanity, emotions, critical thinking, and empathy or doesn’t it matter if we live in a wired world where we are individuals, not a community?

What is the best or worst case scenario of living in a world, where we don’t communicate face to face?”

In our paideia seminar i think I did more talking than what i did in term 1’s seminar. I was really scared but I actually talked a lot.  I was surprised when the people who talked a lot last time didn’t talk a lot this time.  I think that the term 2 paideia seminar was my best one. everybody was talking and if someone didn’t talk we’d always make time for them to talk. I loved it because everybody piggy banked on what someone was saying. I think we all did not want robots to be like a slave or even to rule the WORLD! If we did have them and you had a kid who would look after them? The robot can’t because he can’t get in the water to bathe the baby or even make food.

It was also about the production we performed “ Back in da day” because it is a time travel play and it was about all the technology changing and how they changed. I also loved the paideia seminar because of the Lollies! I think that doing the production boosted my confidence and i think that is why i talked a lot more. I think i could do better next time by listening more and trying to piggy bank on other people's ideas.

Task description: This is a little DLO/Video about warnings before going on a kayak. I also made this with my friends ( Makayla,Jorelle and Amelia) we did this in a day but had to edit it in about 3-4 days because heaps of people were going on their animation. hope you enjoy.

Task description: This is my Newspaper and it is about a girl who thinks she saw an octopus but it is actually a dirty cloth. It just has my writing and some pictures. It is just like a real newspaper. there are also links to the images that I got and the website that i read.

WK8 problem solving

Task description: This is Wk8 (week 8) maths and it was pretty easy. we are learning about ratios, and this presentation is about ratios. You cannot really see what is on the screen though.

Create your own kayak

I have chosen a slalom K1 with a dark blue outline and the base light blue I also have chosen 3 yellow flowers to give it kind of a island paradise kind of thing.I think that island people might like it because it has a traditional flower. Also the painting is simple and also the kayak is nice and simple.

Dear diary

Task description: This is a Task just like with afu and me. But I am writing from me and afu's perspective. also if you are wondering why afu has a little bit it is because he does not have time Because he is a navigator and navigators have to stay up all night and day. This is talking about what me and afu might be doing during our ride to samoa or new Zealand.

Task description: This task was to separate me and afu but I am talking of afu's perspective and what he would travel in and what would he do. But also I am doing the same thing  but My perspective.

Castaway Island

 Walt: Write from the 1st person.

“WHAT?” I said loudly, I look around and I see a lot of sand and water. “Where am I” I said, I try to look around if there were any people around to help . I start to panic, I have no Idea where i have landed. I tried to pull my air boat back to the sea but it pops on a sharp piece of stone.

I tried to gather everything that I could see to make shelter “ Maybe I could make shelter out of this popped boat”. I found flax and from my school experience I knew that to make rope you need flax. I start weaving and it is starting to look  more like rope. I use the rope/flax to hold the sticks that I got together. I made the roof out of fronds (Big leaves) . I was thinking “ what should I do with this boat to make it useful again” so then I had an Idea, I would use it as my blanket and the rest of my leaves as a bed, “Uhh Yay I'm finished” I said exhaustively.

“Ohh man i’m starving” I said with a little echo following. I tried to sharpen a stick with a shell to make a hook to catch some fish.  “Ouch” I said curiously, A coconut just fell from a tree and dropped on my head. I was thinking how could I cook this fish, “wait i can make a umu (hangi) but how do I make fire” I start to gather some sticks and some grass to make a fire. It is not as easy as you think. “Man this is nice” I said with excitement.

How can I make a signal for people to contact me? Then it hit me I would make a fire with a lot of smoke. I grabbed some greens (fronds,grass, smaller leaves ) and some sticks. I start rubbing the dry sticks together but it would not work I would kept trying and trying and then suddenly some smoke started to come up I blew on it and… “yes, a fire”. I put the leaves on the fire and some smoke accidentally came up my nose.  I made a help sign by drawing on the sand with a stick and I waited and waited.

“ what is that loud sound” I said curiously. I waved my hands up in the air and they saw the smoke and the help sign. They came down to the rescue and I climbed on the ladder that came down. “ Thank you so much” I said happily “ I can finally have some real food like KFC”.

Task description: This writing is about me ( The castaway) but it was not real it is a narrative. it is telling how I survived on a mysterious island. It is talking about what technology I used to survive and it goes with My term topic "Now that's Thinking!" which is a technology topic.
