Dear Prime Minister John Key,
Kia ora my name is Naomi and I am a year 5 at Pt England School. This letter is about pollution and plastic waste getting thrown into the drain leading to the sea. The problem about pollution and plastic waste is that this rubbish is ending up down the drain. It can affect the fishes in the sea. It can also affect our birds because they go down to the sea and look for fishes but they might see plastic waste and might think it is a fish and could eat it and that can make them die. With all the fish gone fishing can no longer be a hobby. People won’t be able to eat fish n chips.
I think that you should make a law saying “ There should be no one ever to litter in the drains or they will have to pay”. They might listen but here is another idea we can have a event like a competition whoever fills three bags of rubbish gets a prize or something like that. Or we can have more workers to clean out the drain and also John Key I think they should get more money.
The workers should get more money because they are cleaning the rubbish that was going to the sea. The rubbish in the sea can also make our water dirty and with dirty water no one wants to drink it and with no water we will not live. So we need to get all of the garbage in the sea out or we would not live.
Your’s sincerely,
Naomi
