WLJ activity 1

Activity 1:  Go to the Tourism New Zealand website and click on the ‘Facts - New Zealand People’ tab. Read about the people of New Zealand and then choose three interesting facts to post on your blog. The facts must be written in your own words. Do not simply copy and paste the facts from the website☺:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My 3 interesting facts:
1. A fact that I found interesting was that the all blacks are the best rugby team in the world, I was amazed that New Zealand ( All blacks ) won the rugby world cup. that would have been hard work!
2. In the reading I found out that there are less Maori people in New Zealand and it appears to say that there are "approximately 69% Europeans and 14.6% are Maori" WOW!.
3. I think I learnt this fact in year 2 but I think I forgot it. This fact is about Sir Edmond Hillary He is a famous New Zealander who climbed mount Everest. He started to climb mount Everest on the 29/5/1953. You can also see him on New Zealand's 5 dollar bill.

  1. Kia ora Naomi and welcome back to the holiday blogging programme. We are SO happy that you have joined us again this year!

I particularly enjoyed reading through your post and learning all about New Zealand. It's nice to be reminded of important facts, isn't it? I can see that you've already learned about Sir Edmund Hillary but, given that he is such an important kiwi, it's nice to be reminded of his amazing accomplishment.

Speaking of accomplishments, you have already accomplished so much for this winter learning journey. Keep up the great work!!

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)
